Cayucos, CA [September 2, 2020] – The Cayucos Chamber of Commerce has announced the cancellation of both its fall Cayucos Antique Street Faire held each October and the annual Cayucos Car Show held each November due to county and state restrictions on public gatherings. All Cayucos Chamber events comply with reopening timelines outlined in county reopening efforts at https://www.emergencyslo.org/en/currentrestrictions.aspx.
“Earlier in the year we were hopeful that our fall events might be possible, but the impact of COVID-19 restrictions leaves no opportunity for large-scale events at this time. The safety of our members, residents, partners, businesses, and visitors remains a top priority,” said Lori Stone, Cayucos Chamber Community Manger. “We know that many visitors were looking forward to these wonderful fall Chamber events and we are eager for these events to return in 2021,” added Stone.
The Cayucos Chamber encourages businesses to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines and visitors remain welcome in town under modified open schedules available at www.readyslo.org.
Both the Christmas in Cayucos event held each December and the Carlin Soule Memorial Polar Bear Dip are pending. Event status updates will be shared at www.cayucoschamber.com after Cayucos Chamber board review in coming weeks. The spring 2021 Cayucos Antique Street Faire held each May is being planned at this time. While large-scale events are impacted, there are many safe activities to consider along the central coast. Cayucos visitors are encouraged to support local businesses and help keep trash to a minimum while visiting town.
